In an effort to evolve with the constantly changing conditions we are dealing with today, we have modified our upcoming strategies and created some new opportunities for you and your child, while we maintain safe “social distancing” and stay within CDC and government guidelines.

While many businesses have been closed during this time, ZoL has been approved to help the community in a smaller, safer format. We are making changes so we can help up to 24 children who will be divided up (by ages) into four groups of six. And of course, the whole daily schedule and operating procedure will change.

Here’s how it will likely work (things may evolve further over the next several weeks):

There will be one student per table, and that child will have that seat for the whole week. Each of the rooms are at least 2,000 sq ft, so there is plenty of safe distance. We will have a ratio of 6 children per instructor.
Each child will be presented with their own tub of art supplies to use for the week – no sharing!
There are separate rooms for art, homework/study, yoga/exercise and sketching/games. Children who have school work will have a table to work all day if desired, with an instructor available to work with the child during their learning. Plus, there will be a safe area to eat and for outdoor activities (weather permitting).
Parents will provide a rolling suitcase for each child which will include: snacks and lunch each day, water bottle, homework, laptop (optional) with headphones and charger, large towel or yoga mat, books, face mask, and may bring their own comfy chair (or beanbag!). All items must be clearly-labeled. All stored personal items will be intentionally spaced for safety. Please note, we will not be providing any snacks at all during this time. Plan on morning/afternoon snacks and lunch brought by your child.
We will take (no-touch) temperatures of every child (and staff) at check-in, and again at check-out. Any child with a fever will not be admitted.
There will be hand-sanitizer in each room, and disposable gloves available for whenever necessary. Frequent and proper hand-washing will be encouraged and supervised after activities and restroom visits. We even bought stop watches to ensure each child is washing with antibiotic soap for a minimum of a minute.
All “heavy touch” surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected after each activity.
If any child (or staff) expresses or exhibits symptoms of illness, they will immediately be isolated, and parents contacted for pick up.

Please understand, while we will endeavor to make each day fun and engaging for students, this will not be a typical day at the Zone. The children and the staff’s safety and health are our highest priority – but that doesn’t mean we can’t have fun, be productive and even create some exciting art!

We understand the importance of social distancing and the need for children to be at home, but we also understand the need of parents who must work and are struggling with times at home with children in school and needing to accomplish work. We have taken every step possible to offer this option.
